The School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has an immediate opening for a part-time (38%) Senior Extension Associate Mediation & Arbitration Associate in the Scheinman Institute in the Extension/Outreach Division.

The Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution (http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/scheinman-institute) is the nation’s leading center for the study of workplace conflict resolution, engaging in a broad range of research, teaching, and outreach activities.
What you will do:
The position will be responsible for promoting and supporting Scheinman Institute activities in the Washington, DC and mid-Atlantic labor relations communities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Connecting with law firms, unions, and public and private employers from Washington DC, VA and MD.
Provide in-depth knowledge and create curriculum specific to the Washington DC, VA and MD regions, including, but not limited to, labor relations and dispute resolution for public agencies.
Extension Associate is a part-time (38%), academic, non-tenure track, term position with an initial appointment through June 30, 2027. The position may be re-appointed based on recommendations by the Academic Director and Senior Associate Dean for Outreach and Sponsored Research, as well as available funding and work.

What we need:
The ideal candidate is experienced in all aspects of labor and employment dispute resolution and labor-management relations as a practitioner and/or educator. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to create education/training programs for neutrals, as well as union and management practitioners.

Note: Scheinman Institute programs are delivered at client sites throughout North America, at our conference center in New York City, as well as through distance learning. The position of Senior Extension Associate will be located in the Washington, DC area. There will be moderate travel required for this job.

Part-time salary $41,800 to $47,500 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
