The Division of Nutritional Sciences is seeking applicants for the position of postdoctoral research associate in Cellular and Molecular Nutrition. The candidate is expected to design and conduct research projects in collaboration with Dr. Kersten and other members of the DNS faculty in the area “Nutrition for Metabolic Health”. Research in the Kersten group is aimed at better understanding how lipid metabolism is regulated during feeding and fasting and how lipids govern specific functional outcomes and orchestrate their own metabolism in the liver, fat tissue, and immune cells. A multi-pronged approach is used that ranges from dietary intervention studies in human subjects to physiological experiments in transgenic animals and detailed mechanistic studies in vitro. Multiple projects related to fasting and lipid metabolism are available, depending on personal interest.
In addition, the candidate is expected to contribute to setting up a shared Cellular & Molecular Laboratory within the Division of Nutritional Sciences and contribute to supervising the overall research operations. The candidate may also be asked to contribute to the training of undergraduate and graduate students.
