POSITION: Postdoctoral Associate

Position Function:
This position requires an experienced scientist with state-of-the-art skills in molecular biology and molecular genetics and genomics. The scientist will use these tools to investigate transcription regulation in human cells, and in particular, the structure and mechanisms of regulatory enhancers. A secondary, applied goal is to use this information to identify enhancer variants associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The scientist will be expected to generate genome-wide data on transcription and protein-DNA interactions. This position also requires that the scientist be capable of analyzing this data and providing initial drafts of manuscripts that describe and discuss results. 
Anticipated Division of Time: 
80% - The postdoctoral associate will dedicate most of his/her/their time to laboratory research and data analyses, working specifically on the goal of understanding the structure and functions of regulatory enhancer elements that are associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
10% - Writing research papers and progress reports that come from this research.
5% - Assist with giving lectures and teaching; and in helping to develop new grant applications.
5% - Professional Development 
Requirements: 
Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or genetics, and skills in genomics and computational biology is required. 
Supervision: 
John Lis will be supervising the research. 
Supervision Exercised: 
The postdoctoral associate will do some mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students work on the associate’s project and related projects.

Pay Range:

$54,840.00 - $75,000.00

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
