A post-doctoral associate position is available in the lab of Drs. Roy Cohen and Alexander Travis.  The successful candidate will use multidisciplinary approaches including cell and molecular biology, enzyme biochemistry and nanotechnology to develop an innovative platform for a rapid point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic technology.


The successful candidate will join our fast-paced collaborative team to execute sophisticated biological experiments, towards the development and production enzyme-based, ultra-rapid diagnostic tests to be utilized in a series of studies regarding stroke, head injuries (stroke and concussion) and cancer.


Qualifications:  Ph.D. in related fields.  Strong technical background in biochemistry, enzymology, assay development, and/or recombinant protein production. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for participating in our multi-disciplinary team. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and ability to work in a team are required.


Full-time, two year appointment (renewed annually) with possible extension depending on funding and performance.

Pay Range:

$54,840.00 - $75,000.00

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
