Cornell Law School seeks experienced candidates, whose primary experience and interest is in Far East law and culture, for a full-time, tenured faculty position as the Jack G. Clarke Professor of Far East Legal Studies and the Faculty Director of the Clarke Program in East Asian Law and Culture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for research in Far East law and culture, teaching law school courses, and service to the school. In the role of Faculty Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a program that brings a broad interdisciplinary focus to the study of law in East Asia. The Faculty Director works to expand the purview of legal scholarship and to develop new ways of thinking about transnational law, politics, and culture. This includes sponsoring a variety of activities and events, including fellowships, conferences, lectures, collaborative research projects, short and long-term scholarly exchanges, and student exchanges.
Benefits are competitive and include a budget for research and travel. Faculty may also apply to the Dean for summer research stipends to work on individual and collective projects.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a strong record of scholarly publications and/or other accomplishments showing robust interdisciplinary connections to law, with a specific focus on Far East law and culture.
