Postdoctoral Associate (Schang Lab)

Post-Doctoral Associate position in the group of Luis Schang. The successful candidate will use a variety of technologies and approaches including cell and molecular biology, small molecule inhibitors, advanced imaging and microscopy, biochemistry and biophysics to study the roles of chromatin dynamics in the regulation of viral replication and pathogenesis. This work is focused on understanding the mechanisms that allow nuclear DNA viruses, such as herpes simplex 1 (HSV1) to establish both lytic and latent infections, thus addressing some of the most critical questions regarding their pathogenesis.

  

Qualifications: 

Ph.D. in related fields (e.g.,virology, biochemistry, cellular or molecular biology). Experience with virology, cell culture, cellular and molecular biology, epigenetics, chromatin, biochemistry, advanced imaging, biophysics, or small molecule inhibitors is desired. Effective written and verbal communication skills, and abilities to work in a team, are essential for participating in our multi-disciplinary team, including writing scientific papers and grant proposals. Strong work ethic, creativity, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team are required.
