Health Impacts Partnership and Program Lead

Faculty, staff, and students within Cornell Public Health support public health improvement and positive health impacts via community engagement, capacity building assistance, and applied action research. This work is implemented in curricular, co-curricular, and non-curricular settings, resulting in meaningful growth experiences for students, expanded capacity for partners, and translational research and practice opportunities for faculty. To support this growing area of work, we are recruiting a Health Impacts Partnership and Program Lead (Senior Extension Associate) to foster and build multi-sectoral partnerships, to support public health workforce capacity building, to support evaluation and documentation and dissemination of processes used and outputs/impacts seen.

Essential Functions

• Foster and expand partnerships with public health-related organizations
• Expand evaluation frameworks to focus on outcomes and impacts
• Co-develop research protocols and IRB packages, including data collection processes and tools
• Develop and implement processes and collect process and outcomes data
• Lead, co-lead or supervise applied research/implementation teams in data collection, analysis, documentation
• Analyze and collate data to develop high-quality reports to present data
• Develop routine reports describing processes, and quantifying and qualifying multi-directional benefits, outcomes, and impacts
• Lead, co-lead or contribute to grant witting/business development and academic writing efforts
• Work with collaborators to ensure project objectives are met
• Share ideas and innovations for project or program expansion
• Contribute to technical assistance, teaching, and/or capacity building activities, as needs align with skills

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (public health or related field, with emphasis on systems thinking, applied/action research, implementation science)
• Demonstrated public health experience (as a part of, or in addition to doctoral studies)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), data collection and management (Qualtrics, Excel), and Adobe
• Proven experience with data collection, analysis, and visualization
• High level of motivation, and ability to innovate, especially when driven by data and needs
• Self-directed and demonstrates a high degree of initiative.
• Record of success as a member of a dynamic, fast-paced team
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to exercise sound and ethical judgment when acting on behalf of the University
• Experience with community-based not-for-profit organizations, community development, cooperative extension, state public health agencies, and other organizations that contribute to essential public health services
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing programs, and producing high-quality project-related outputs
• Success and experience contributing to multidisciplinary intervention teams
• Experience in successfully mentoring or teaching others (peers, community members, students)

The salary range for this position is $70,400 to $130,000 and will be commensurate with credentials and experience. This position is eligible for benefits.

Please note that this is a one-year term that is renewable up to a maximum of 5 years.

The position is based in Cornell University’s Ithaca campus and is a fully in-person role requiring frequent interaction with students, faculty, and community partners.
