Open Doors English Daily Substitute Educator Job Announcement

 

Open Doors English seeking substitute English as a Second Language instructors.  Substitute educators provide English language instruction to adult speakers of other languages on a per diem basis. ODE offers classes morning, afternoon, and evening. Substitutes may be asked to teach in person (morning or afternoon) or online (evening).

 

ODE is an English language school for adults, serving immigrants, refugees, temporary residents, and other English language learners.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

      deliver ESL instruction that is appropriate and accessible for students across communicative modalities (reading, writing, listening, & speaking). Lesson plans and materials will be provided.

      provide a positive, supportive learning environment for students

      maintain open and clear communication with ODE co-directors and colleagues

 

Skills and Qualifications:  (preferred but not required)

      Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting

      Experience teaching ESL

      Experience learning another language and/or living in another culture

      Certification in TESOL, Master’s in TESOL or currently in a Master’s program

 

Wage: $18.45 per hour
