The HR Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of Human Resources duties focused on recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and administrative items.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Oversee the recruiting process
• Post positions
• Assist Supervisors with interviews
• Send offer letters
- Oversee the employee on-boarding process, including:
• Conduct new hire orientation and coordinate all training.
• Assist new employees with enrolling in Cornell services.
• Review benefits and retirement plan information with new hires.
• Initiate and ensure completion of all employee onboarding events. Process all new hire paperwork.
• Maintain materials for employee onboarding process.
- Oversee the administration of the Affirmative Action Plan, including:
• Compilation of affirmative action plan data.
• Development and execution of affirmative action initiatives.
- Respond to employee inquiries, and assist employees with employment issues, escalating issues appropriately to the HR Director as needed.
- Respond to all employment and income verification inquiries.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and other human resources records.
- Prepare monthly group insurance invoices for payment.
- Oversee the employee departure process, including:
• Send letter of separation and exit paperwork.
• Remove employees from BTI systems.
- Serve as a backup to the HR Generalist
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of professional or internship experience related to HR Management
- High level verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
